The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Floke Fama Company Limited, Kenney Kwabena Teye, has called for the standardisation of medical procedures and equipment in health facilities.

This, he believes, would help ensure patients get the same quality of care with guaranteed outcomes.

“It is very important because in the laboratory space there needs to be standardization, precision and quality control in whatever is happening,” he stated.

He was speaking at a conference in Accra on the theme, ‘Healthcare Systems: Contribution of Quality Laboratory Diagnosis.’

He expressed the commitment of Floke Fama to building a better working environment with world class healthcare equipment.

The Chief Program Officer, Director of Allied Health, Ghana Ministry of Health, Dr. Ignatius Awinibuno, stressed on the important role of In Vitro Diagnostics (IVDs) in enhancing patient outcomes and reducing the overall healthcare burden.

“It is critical for us to always consider not just the face value of the cost of the equipment, but also look at other areas like, what it takes in order to maintain the equipment even after you have bought it. You should also consider how the equipment can work with other existing systems,” he said.

He, therefore, called on scientists to live up to their role to ensure that they select the best equipment adding that they should not be afraid to introduce technology into their work.

“Technology makes the work easier and we are able to do more test to contain the work load, and we are able to give out result in a shorter time, and those result are also likely going to be accurate,” he stated.
