On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, a team comprising members of the Ghana Models Awards Secretariat and management of the winner of the ‘Flora Community Service Award’ model, Araba Sey, paid a courtesy call on Flora Tissues at their head office in Tema.
The purpose was to officially introduce the winner of the 2021Â ‘Flora Community Service Award’ which was presented in September at the Ghana Models Awards, to officials of Flora Tissues.
The Director of Marketing at Flora Tissues, Madam Barbara Incoom, indicated that they were glad to receive Araba Sey and promised to support her activities as an advocate for social responsibility.
As part of the responsibilities of the winner for the ‘Flora Community Service Award’ initiative of the Ghana Models Award, the winner is encouraged to continue social work in her community to help erase the perception that models are only concerned about glamour.
According to Ms. Incoom, Flora Tissues was committed to community development, hence their interest in the initiative.
“We are interested in initiatives that are human centered and seek to touch lives and impact society positively. So, we would be looking forward to supporting you (Araba) on such projects of your own in the coming months. Also, initially, we agreed on having this partnership through the Ghana Models Awards for three months, but now, we are extending it until the next edition,” she said.
In a response, Head of Operations, Marketing and Protocol, Ebenezer K. Suppey of Ghana Models Awards, also applauded Flora Tissues for honouring their word and supporting the event.
“We are grateful for the encouragement Flora has shown to the Ghana Models Awards and we promise a better and much exciting event next year. We also want to assure you that the Ghana Models Awards Secretariat will be embarking on other social events to help erase the perception that models are only about glamour and, therefore, are not interested in community service,” he said.
