Four new envoys from Kuwait, Poland, Belgium and Trinidad and Tobago yesterday presented their letters of credence to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
They included Mohammed Abdullah Al-Khalidi, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Ghana; Joana Tarnawska, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Ghana; Michael Wimmer, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Ghana, and Wendell Vincent Carlton De Landro, High Commissioner of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to Ghana.
At a short but colourful ceremony at the Jubilee House (Presidency), President Akufo-Addo welcomed all four to Ghana, a country that prides itself with its sense of hospitality and wished them a successful duty tour.
He pledged his government’s determination to strengthen the already cordial relations that exist between their respective countries for the common good of their citizenry.
The President, therefore, assured them of the readiness of officials of his government including those at the Presidency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration to assist them in order to make their tour of duty a successful one.
All four envoys said their respective countries were looking forward to strengthening relations with Ghana in the coming years.
They commended the President and his government for the management of the Ghanaian economy and the atmosphere of peace that exist in the country while touting Ghana’s democratic credentials.
Having won the bid to host the international secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Ghana would begin to have great prospects of increased trade activity with its fellow African countries, according to them.
