Fraudulent Recruitment Scandal Hits Petroleum Hub

A sophisticated fraudulent scheme has been uncovered, targeting individuals seeking employment opportunities with the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC).

The scam, which has been circulating on various platforms, claims that artisans interested in joining the Petroleum Hub Development Project must pay a non-refundable fee of GHC100 for an application form.

However, the PHDC has categorically denied any association with this scheme, warning the public that it does not charge any fees for job applications or related processes.

This is not the first time the corporation has been targeted by fraudsters.

In 2020, a similar scheme was exposed, where scammers posed as PHDC representatives, promising job opportunities in exchange for payment.

In a statement, PHDC has reassured the public that it remains committed to transparency and integrity in all its operations.

The corporation is set to launch its official Data Repository, an online portal designed to provide investors within the Hub with access to a pool of potential employees.

Unlike the fraudulent scheme, accessing the portal for job opportunities will be free of charge.

The public has been urged to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or directly to PHDC via their office contacts or email.
