Freda Rhymz, Sista Afia Collaborate To Release New Song

Freda Rhymz and Sista Afia

Rapper Freda Rhymz and singer Sista Afia, who in the past seemed to have taken their lyrical beef to another level, collaborated to release a new song, Saucy, the first collaboration of its kind after their unsavory fight went viral.

This recent step they took to make their renewed friendship official was the release of the song.

Freda Rhymz explained their beef was settled quietly by both managements.

“When we decided to settle it, it was an in-house something. We did it between my management and Sista Afia’s and we didn’t put it out for people to know; and decided to drop this for people to see that we are good now,” she said.

The viral fight between the two, according to Freda Rhymz, started during the lockdown, when Sista Afia released a song.

She said she took advantage of that to drop her own lines but did not see the beef escalating to the level it did.

“During the lockdown, things weren’t really happening, so when she dropped hers, it got bars; people were talking about it so I saw it as an opportunity. I went to the studio and recorded some and when I dropped it people fell in love with it. My fans liked it but some people in the industry didn’t like it, which was Sista Afia.

“Also, she came at me and I did likewise, and it became back-to-back and emotions and other things came in,” she stated.

“I thought I was just dropping something to entertain fans and all that, but it was only Sista Afia that took it in a bad way, I thought it was lyrical,” she added.

In the midst of the chaos, the two had recorded the song, Saucy, which was set to be released with a video but the fight made it impossible for them to.

“I honestly wanted us to settle things because this election year, we have to preach peace, unity and all,” she added.

In the entertainment industry, beefing is common among artistes, and during beefs, these artistes become the centre of attraction for everyone in need of some new gossip; and Freda, on this note, admitted her beef with Sista Afia channelled some traffic to her pages, both on Instagram and on YouTube, in a previous interview.
