Freddies Corner Opens Home Appliances Shop

Freddies Corner has opened a new shop at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.

The shop has in stock authentic and affordable home appliances which include television sets, air conditioners, fridges, and chest freezers. Other appliances are gas cookers, washing machines, kettles, irons, microwaves, CCTV cameras, laptops, sound bars and an array of brands such as Samsung, Nasco, Midea, Skyworth, LG, Westpoint and Syinix.

Speaking at the new shop, the General Manager of the Freddies Corner, Bright Korlie Matey, urged the government to maintain the exchange rate to enable them to maintain their businesses.

He explained that fluctuations in the exchange rate affected their businesses and thus largely translated into high product costs and low sales.

“The best support government could give us is to reduce the exchange rates (dollar mostly) and maintain a fixed rate so that our companies and importers can plan and execute their transactions accordingly,” Mr. Korlie Matey said.

He stated that even though many people were using social media platforms as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, it had not translated into high mobile phone sales.

“There has not been a sudden upsurge in our mobile phone sales and the business atmosphere has been average,” he said.

Mr. Korlie Matey indicated that the decision to open two home appliances shops was to satisfy the needs of the company’s customers.

“We seek to be Ghana’s number one home appliances outlet just as we are renowned for mobile phones, and hope to achieve this by constantly giving our customers the very best of home appliances at unbeatable prices,” he stated.
