PASSENGERS ON BOARD Ethiopian Airlines aircraft can now surf the internet with seamless reliable connectivity.
This has been made possible courtesy to the latest broadband satellite technology (Kaband) the airline introduced on its A350 fleet.
With the state-of-the-art broadband satellite technology, passengers can be rest assured that they will enjoy reliable connectivity for sending emails, shopping online or even chatting on social media while flying.

The launch of the onboard wi-fi internet is part of our relentless efforts to further add to passengers’ comfort keeping pace with the technology of the day. As customer-centric airline, we will remain focused on continuous service excellence, taking advantage of emerging technologies and infrastructure.”
Passengers can access the in-flight connectivity service by purchasing vouchers at Ethiopian Airlines sales outlets including Addis Ababa International Airport customer service desk, boarding gate and cabin crews onboard the flights. Online sales through credit/debit card and Sheba Miles are also additional options for passengers to enjoy the service.
The in-flight Wi-Fi can be accessed with smart phones, tablets and laptops.
The in-flight Wi-Fi internet is initially launched on the A350 fleet of Ethiopian with further plans to expand the service on other airplanes deployed on long haul flights.
Houston flights
In another development, Ethiopian Airlines Group says it has finalized all preparations to start thrice weekly flights to Houston, Texas from December 16, 2019.
Houston is the fourth most populous city in the United States.
The new Houston flights will be operated via Ethiopian West African Hub in Lomé, Togo, and will facilitate the travel of the large African community in the Houston area as well as the oil and gas industry and other companies doing business in the region.
The new flights will provide the only direct and most efficient connections between Houston and West Africa, the airline said.
