A Fulani man aged 20, Idrisa Alhaji, has been arrested for allegedly butchering a woman to death in Mafi Kumasi.
Security sources tell DGN Online that the victim is one Patience Amu aged 54.
According to information available to this portal, the suspect was armed with a long cutlass with blood stains on it inside the victim’s room.
Police were said to have entered the room and found the victim lying in a supin position in a pool of blood dead.
Inspection conducted on the body revealed multiple cutlass wounds on the neck, the chest, the breast and the hands, according to police sources.
The deceased was removed from the room and deposited at Adidome government hospital morgue pending autopsy, police say, adding that suspect Idrisa Alhaji was detained to assist investigation.
According to sources, the police received information from one Anthony Agbledzo of Mafi Agoe indicating that on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at about 2:00am someone entered the sister’s room and attacked her.
The complainant is reported to have told the police that they saw a lot of blood coming out of the room.
Upon receipt of the message No. 39189, G/Sgt Nicholas Adonakyor assigned three police officers quickly rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival police, DGN Online gathered that the police officers forced the victim’s window open and arrested the suspect.
