King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II
The kingmakers of the Ga Paramount Stool are demanding apology from Emmanuel Nii Yartey Tackie Yaoboi aka Nii Yaote Oto-Ga for defamation, failing which within 72 hours they would take appropriate action against him.
Nii Dr. Tetteh Kwei II, Ga Paramount Dzasetse; the Ga Seitse /Osiahene Nii Tetteh Ashong V and the head of the four royal ruling houses of the Ga State issued the ultimatum following Nii Oto-Ga and others’ “unprovoked statements and allegations against various distinguished personalities respectively as being collaborators of the kingmakers of the Ga State and the substantive Ga Mantse and also meddling in the affairs of the Ga Paramountcy.”
Nii Yartey Tackie Yaoboi and others reportedly questioned the legitimacy of the installation of King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II as the substantive Ga Mantse as contained in a media report dated 27th October, 2017.
In a press statement signed and thumb-printed by Nii Agyemankese II, Head, Nii Tackie Komey, Royal Ruling House and Head, Agyemankese Division and Nii Akropong IV, Head, Abola Piam Royal Ruling and Head, Akropong Division, the kingmakers questioned the authority of Nii Yaote Oto-Ga II and others to query the deeds of the kingmakers of the Ga Paramount Stool in performing their customary obligation of installing a Ga Mantse.
In a mark of defiance and authority, the kingmakers pointed out that “the Ga State has spoken and His Majesty, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has customarily/constitutionally ascended the Royal Stool of his ancestors.”
According to Ga custom, they explained, ‘It is the substantive Ga Paramount Stool Dzasetse, the substantive Ga Seitse/Osiahene and the accredited heads of the four royal ruling houses who nominate, select and enstool the substantive Ga Mantse, in accordance with the Ga custom and tradition.”
The said Emmanuel Yartey Tackie Yaoboi aka Nii Yaote Oto-Ga II, is not the substantive Ga Dzasetse because according to the Council, he is not eligible to be nominated to the position of Ga Paramount Stool Dzasetse, since he hails from Nii Yartey/Yaoboi We (Adasa We) gate of Nii Amugi Royal Ruling House.
Explaining, the Council said, “In 1963 when the father of Nii Tetteh Kwei II – the late Seth Tetteh Kwei – was confined to be enstooled as the Ga Mantse, the Yartey/Yaoboi gate vehemently opposed it, with the reason that the Tetteh Kweis are from a long tradition of Dzasetsemei and not Ga Mantsei and immediately proposed Ni Amugi as the substantive Ga Mantse. So why in this day and age will the Yartey/Yaoboi We (Adaasa We) gate get involved with Dzasetse issues by meddling in the Dzasetse disputes?”
The Council also pointed out, “He is estopped by the ruling and an order of interlocutory injunction dated 9th day of August, 2010 in Suit No. GTC/C5/2009, restraining Nii Yartey Oto-Ga II aka Emanuel Yartey Tackie Yaoboi, his agents, servants, privies, assigns or whom however described from interfering with the Ga Paramount Stool Dzasetse’s functions and duties.”
The Council members recalled how the man being referred to and others who regarded themselves as kingmakers broke into the stool house with the support of armed land guards, claiming to have installed George Tackie Abia as Ga Mantse, contrary to the ruling of the 1st April, 2014 in the Consolidated petition initiated to challenge the enstoolment of King Tackie Tawiah III by the Judicial Committee of the GARHC that declared the Ga Paramount Stool vacant.
They added, “Both Nii Yartey Oto-Ga and Nii Tackie Adama Latse are imposters who should be locked away for the atrocities they have caused the Ga Stool.”
