De-Graft Egyir in handshake with John Mahama while board members, CEOs look on
Ahead of the 10th Ghana CEO Summit & Expo scheduled for May 28, 2026, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra, the Founder and Convenor of the event, Ernest De-Graft Egyir, has paid a courtesy call on President John Mahama at the Flagstaff House.
The visit, which was accompanied by board and executive members of the Summit’s awarding board as well as a number of distinguished chief executives, was to formally brief the President, who is expected to serve as Guest of Honour, on preparations for this year’s event.
The 2026 edition of the Summit is themed “Accelerating Ghana’s Economic Transformation: Driving Bold Reforms through Leadership, Technology, and Industrialization for Sustainable Growth,” reflecting a strong focus on policy direction, innovation, and private sector-led development.
Mr. Egyir and his delegation used the opportunity to assure the President of their readiness to deliver a successful anniversary edition, highlighting the Summit’s growing relevance as a platform for high-level dialogue between government and business leaders.
Responding to the delegation, President Mahama pledged his readiness to honour the invitation and participate in the event.
He also urged the organisers to prioritise continuous stakeholder consultation, noting that such engagement is essential in shaping responsive and effective government policies.
The President further emphasised his administration’s commitment to structured collaboration with the private sector.
He indicated that the courtesy call should not be treated as a one-off interaction but rather as the beginning of sustained engagement between the CEO Network Ghana and relevant government ministries.
According to him, strengthening dialogue between policymakers and industry leaders would help ensure alignment in national development priorities and foster a more conducive environment for economic growth.
Over the years, the Ghana CEO Summit has established itself as a key platform for advancing industry insights, promoting business innovation, and influencing economic policy discussions. The annual gathering brings together corporate leaders, policymakers, investors, and development partners to deliberate on pressing economic challenges and opportunities.
Organisers noted that the Summit’s strategic approach centres on identifying practical business solutions and best practices to drive growth and competitiveness.
They also cited strong participation outcomes from previous editions, with about 80 percent of CEO attendees reporting high levels of personal and professional satisfaction, while 85 percent indicate that they have secured business opportunities through the platform.
