The 10th edition of the Ghana DJ Awards has come to an end after a star-studded night of performances, award presentations and acceptance speeches.

Majority of music stakeholders and pundits who graced this year’s edition of the Ghana DJ Awards in separate interviews after the event said this year’s Ghana DJ Awards is the best organised event so far in the country by a local crew.

They extolled the Ghana DJ Awards for its role over the years, in bringing together music DJs from both within and outside the country, which has created more markets for Ghanaian music.

“I must congratulate the organisers for holding unto this vision for the past 10 years and for the contribution the festival has made to the music industry,” one of the stakeholders told BEATWAVES.

“It tells that there was enough thinking and planning that went into this year’s event,” BullGod, a pundit noted.

According to Jay Foley, “this is the best so far. The experience has gone a notch higher this year. I’m also proud to see a lot of industry folks showing support to it.”

Acting president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons, expressed his take on this year’s event in an interview on the Ghana DJ Awards Black Carpet. Showering praises on Merqury Republic, organisers of the event, he enunciated, “everything they organise is on point.”

It has been established by an unusual majority that the technical bit and coordination of the event was flawless.

“The turnout was massive and the organisation of the event is highly plausible. Kudos to Merqury Quaye. There were a lot of events over the weekend and for them to have pulled such a crowd, it shows how Ghanaians value the event and they deserve a lot of praise,” Asempa FM host, Fire Lady said.

Top Jamaican singer Da’Ville said in a video shared on Ghana DJ Awards official Instagram page that “this is the greatest.”

It has been revealed that this is the first time, since the inception of the festival that its founder, Merqury Quaye, led its technical production.

In an exclusive interview with BEATWAVES, Merqury Quaye said, “my company has been producing this event for the past nine years, but this year, I decided to lead the technical production. I am overwhelmed by the results and feedback. I’m really excited and thank myself for taking up the mantle.”

Since the Global Citizen Festival was held in Ghana, the expectations of Ghanaian entertainment event attendees and pundits have shot high and many events that have been held after it have been highly criticised for lack of quality and poor coordination. Ghana DJ Awards appears to be the only event held after the event that has received such great reviews in Ghana.
