The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Micheal Okyere Baafi , has led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on the overlord of Dagbon, Ya Na Abukari Mahama II, at the Gbewa palace in Yendi in the Northern region.
The delegation also called on the chief of Tamale, Gulkpe Naa , Abdulai Alhassan at his palace.
The purpose of the visit is to seek the blessings of the King of Dagbon and also to introduce the activities of the Ghana Free Zones Authority to him.
According to the CEO, over the years , the Free Zones Authority had not operated in the Northern region and hinted of plans to establish a zone in the region.
He indicated that the Authority will be organizing an investment forum in Tamale tomorrow to train and educate investors , entrepreneurs, business students and the business community in the region to understand the concept of Free Zones.
The overlord of Dagbon, Ya Na Abukari Mahama II, welcomed the delegation and wished them a successful working time in the region.
The Ya Na was hopeful that the activities of the Free Zones Authority will impact businesses in the region.
