The Ghana Navy says it is commitment to its Agenda 2024 initiative aimed at ensuring that officers’ accommodation challenges are mitigated.

The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu, said this when he commissioned the Ghana Navy Lodge and accommodation block at Beach Road in Takoradi.

The facility includes a nine-bedroom ensuite and four three-bedroom houses.

He mentioned that the commissioning was not just a physical addition to infrastructure but a significant step in the commitment to providing the best facilities for navy personnel.

He was of the view that through collective efforts, officers would have a befitting abode to enjoy the peace of mind needed to conduct the arduous task of protecting the nation.

He added that the service stands on the core pillars of loyalty, devotion and excellence hence committed to ensure the well-being and comfort of personnel.

Rear Admiral Yakubu revealed that the headquarters was in the process of acquiring another property to supplement officers’ accommodation and added that the rehabilitation of the single quarters at Caprice, Kweikuma and the Regulating Office at the Naval Base Sekondi were near completion.

He commended all stakeholders who contributed towards the completion of the projects. He noted that, the lodge would be opened to the public for a moderate fee just like the Navy Guest House at Winneba and entreated all to patronize the facility.

The, Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Commodore, Emmanuel Ayesu Kwafo, commended the CNS’ efforts to prioritize accommodation and infrastructure for naval personnel across the country.

He pledged that the edifice and all other infrastructure under the Command would receive the highest standard of maintenance.

He also thanked all stakeholders whose contributions helped in bringing the project to fruition.
