Ghanaian peacekeepers serving with the United Nations (UN) in Lebanon have celebrated Ghana’s 62nd Independence Anniversary in that country.

In Ghana, the celebration was marked at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale, the Northern Regional Capital.

The 85 Ghana Battalion currently serving in South Lebanon reportedly marked the Independence Day with ‘all-women’ parade.

They held the colourful celebration at the Battalion Headquarters located in Al-Qawzah, South of Lebanon on Wednesday, March 6.

Under the GHANBATT 85 of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), 850 Ghanaian officers have been deployed to Lebanon to restore peace and security in the country in Middle East.

They have particularly been assigned to the Lebanon-Israel to maintain peace in the area.
