The burnt house
An 11-YEAR-old girl was virtually burnt into ashes at Medoma near Mamponteng in the Ashanti Region, Tuesday afternoon.
The charred body of the deceased, identified as Tunteya Salmu, has since been deposited in a mortuary.
According to reports, there was a fire outbreak in a six-bedroom house at Medoma, around 1:30pm on Tuesday.
The inhabitants of the house managed to ran from harm’s way, but sadly, Tunteya was trapped and burnt into ashes.
Some fire fighters rushed to the place, but it was too late as Tunteya had already been burnt to death.
A police report noted that one Abdul Samar Abubakar of Medoma personally reported the fire incident to the police.
“He came to Mamponteng Station and reported that today, April 5, 2022, at 1:30pm; his six-bedroom house was burnt.
“In the course of the fire, his daughter, Tunteya Salmu, aged 11, was burnt beyond recognition,” the report said.
It said the Mamponteng Ghana National Fire Service team responded and rushed to the scene, and doused the fire.
Unfortunately, Tunteya had been burnt into ashes before the fire fighters arrived.
“The charred remains of Tunteya Salmu has been deposited at Ankaase Methodist Faith Healing Hospital Mortuary,” the police report added.
The police and fire fighters are still investigating the cause of the fire.
