GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Host Asafa Powell

Renowned Jamaican sprinter, Asafa Powell, is the special guest for the GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Human Tamale (Northern regions) meet this weekend, Reks Brobby, founder of the sprint project has announced.

Powell, who was in the country few weeks ago for a working visit, is expected back from his base today, courtesy Sports Equity Lab in collaboration with GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Human.

And among activities lined up for his visit are coaches diner, speed clinic at the University of Ghana, Legon, Sports Equity Talk and the Tamale meet.

The Tamale competition ushers in this year’s event, after a spectacular 10th anniversary launch recently, and participants will battle for supremacy in male and female U-15, U-18, 18 and above and seniors categories at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

“The clinic is the first ever in athletics, and it’s being supervised by no mean personalities than renowned sprinter Asafa Powell, a top coach. GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Human Tamale, the other Northern regions are ready for Saturday’s event. The athletes, we the organisers are equally ready to deliver a top class event, fans should expect the very best from us,” said Brobby.

He added, “In fact, the presence of Asafa Powell at the venue will be enough motivation for the athletes to give their best shot.”

The event is being sponsored by Adidas, Moringa King, Global Media Alliance, Sports Equity Lab, Kriate Lync, Pippa’s Gym and Wrenco Printing.
