Goldstar Air, a wholly owned Ghanaian airline, as part of its corporate social responsibility presented personal protective equipment (PPE) during the 14th CANA African Junior/Senior Open Water Championship held at the Trust Sports Emporium FINA-approved pool in Accra.
The Manager of Cargo Services of the airline, John Ashong-Mettle, presented the items on behalf of Eric Bannerman, the Executive Chairman of Goldstar Air, and was received by the President of the Ghana Swimming Federation, Mrs. Delphina Quaye.
Ashong-Mettle noted the purpose of the presentation was to augment the swimming federation’s efforts in ensuring that lives are not lost to the rampaging COVID-19 pandemic during and after the competition.
“As a country we have clawed acclamation following the stringent measures put in place by government to stem the tide and as a company that subscribes to the President’s resolve to protect every single Ghanaian, we have made our minds up to complement the effort of central government in this regard,” he added.
The Ghana Swimming Federation President thanked Goldstar Air profusely for making the timely donation and also acknowledged the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS), the National Sports Authority (NSA), the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) and other sponsors whose generous supports made the championship a remarkable success.
The airline will provide an amazing customer experience through the provision of the best service and contribute to the growth of the Ghanaian economy by making international travel inexpensive and accessible.
