Greater Accra Continues To Be Covid-19 Epicenter – Minister

Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, has indicated that the Greater Accra Region continues to be the coronavirus epicenter in Ghana.

He made this known while making a presentation at the Nation Updates on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at the Academy of Arts and Sciences in Accra.

He stated that as of Tuesday, October 20, there were about 357 active cases in Ghana.

According to him, in five regions namely Upper West, Upper East, Savannah, North East, Northern, and Oti Regions, there were no active cases.

He said in six regions there are up to 10 active cases each, and in four other regions, there are over 11 cases each.

Greater Accra Continues to be the epicenter of the disease in Ghana, he said.

He said Ghana has so far been successful in dealing with the pandemic.

He attributed Ghana’s success story over coronavirus to effective implementation of decisions, strong leadership, partnership with private sector and strong cooperation from the public in adhering to the safety measures.

He stated that the battle is not over yet despite the gains made so far.

The easing of restrictions does not mean the disappearance of coronavirus in Ghana, he warned.
