GRIDCo’s Pylon Hacked Down

DGN ONLINE has gathered a pylon of the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) in Tema which transmits power from Karpower and AKSA to the national grid, has been hacked down.

The incident took place at dawn on Monday, March 25, 2019 and DGN Online is informed that it is likely to affect power supply in most areas in and around Tema.

A hacksaw and spinner were seen at the scene and GRIDCo strongly believes the reason behind the hack is to sabotage power supply.

Director for Systems Control at GRIDCo, Mark Baahsaid, “A human being deliberately cut it. It’s unbelievable. I haven’t seen anything like this.”

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GRIDCo, Jonathan Amoako-Baah, has expressed shock over the matter.
