Bankroller of King Faisal Babies, Alhaji Karim Gruzah, has hailed Fitcom’s kit sponsorship deal for 62 clubs in the country.
Last week, the Turkish-based kit manufacturing company signed a record figure of 62 clubs, including Premier, Division One and all 16 women’s league clubs.
The deal, brokered by Nana Yaw Amponsah, GFA presidential aspirant, handed beneficiary clubs a set of home kit, a set of away kit, two sets of training kit, a set of tracksuit, polo shirts and bags at no financial cost to the clubs.
And to the Faisal boss, the initiative is unprecedented and deserves commendation.
“We have witnessed a lot of kit sponsorships, but I must say this is unprecedented, it is one of a kind, looking at the numbers.
“Never in the history of Ghana have we witnessed such a deal, he has really done well for Ghana football,” he stated.
Clubs such as Eleven Wonders, Bechem United, Karela FC, New Edubiase, B.A. United, Nea Salamina, Achiken FC, King Faisal, Nkoranza Warriors, Sporting Mirren, Nania FC, among others, have received their consignment.
General Manager of Fitcom, Demirkaya Tunahan and Ertemcoz Serdar (Fitcom agent to Africa) were in Accra to witness the sponsorship signing ceremony.
“Branding football well makes it attractive and gives you the right kind money in return, that is why clubs outside sell one player for so much.
Football is big business; and it starts with the right branding and it the reason Fitcom is here,” Nana Amponsah said.
Ahead of the signing ceremony, Nana Amponsah led the delegation to the Youth & Sports Ministry to discuss plans of restoring Ghana’s football fortunes.
