The country’s tennis governing body, Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF), has honoured the McDan Foundation for its immense contribution to the development of tennis in Ghana.

The Foundation, headed by Mrs Abigail McKorley, has taken female tennis in the country a notch higher, and seeks to do more this year and beyond.

And for its reward, the GTF presented a special artifact to Mrs Abigail McKorley for spearheading the development of female tennis.

GTF scribe, Mrs Philipina Frimpong, mentioned that the McDan Foundation’s exceptional care for education and tennis in particular stirred her outfit for the recognition.

She pointed out that “Mrs McKorley has been instrumental in women’s tennis in the country and we want to encourage her, hence this special reward. We are grateful to her and the McDan Foundation for their immense support.”

Mrs Abigail McKorley indicated that “It’s indeed an honour for the recognition; it has always been our dream to see Ghana tennis and education rise.

“This, certainly, will urge us on to support the youth in education and sports. I really thank GTF for this honour. I dedicate this to the team forming the McDan Foundation.”

Last year, the McDan Foundation provided thousands of branded exercise books to some selected basic schools in the Ga Adangbe area, as well as run juvenile tennis clinics and competitions.
