A scene at the service
The year-long Golden Jubilee celebration of Ghana Textile Printing Limited (GTP) was climaxed last Sunday with a special thanksgiving service in Tema.
Management and staff of the company, GTP dealers and customers, among others, were in attendance.
Head Chaplain of Achimota School, Rev Kingsley Gyekye, who preached the sermon, challenged corporate institutions to regularly take stock of their activities and assess how well they have fared.
He said during such stock-taking period, it was important for the entire workforce to acknowledge the blessings they had received from God over the years.
Rev Gyekye also commended the company for the critical role it was playing in the socio-economic development of Ghana.
He indicated that one was likely to find GTP product in virtually every home in Ghana.
Muslim prayers
Earlier on Friday, a Muslim service, marked by Quranic recitations by Muslim clerics drawn from various mosques in Tema and Accra and Islamic melodies and prayers, were offered by three Imams- Abdul-Karim Abass Umar, Abdul-Rauf Issah and Masud Mohammed.
Managing Director of the company, Kofi Boateng said the company started the jubilee celebration by interacting with its loyal trade partners across the country and informing them about the company’s challenges, aspirations and plans for the future.
He also said the company undertook some activities which included health walk, inauguration of the Blood Donors Club, donation of 150 pints of blood to the National Blood Bank, rehabilitation of the Maternity Ward of the Tema General Hospital, as well as the cutting of sod to construct a multi-purpose canteen and toilet facilities for the Tema Community 4 Public Schools which will be completed in September, this year.
