Gyedu Blay Ambolley Embarks On Europe Tour

Gyedu Blay Ambolley, renowned Ghanaian highlife/jazz musician with international recognition, kicked his Europe tour in Madrid, Span with a performance to entertain his fans.

The tour began in Ghana two weeks ago before heading to Europe with his Sekondi Band International to thrill thousands of music fans.

The tour,which is expected to have the celebrated musician perform in selected cities in Europe including Spain, France among others, will be one of the biggest to ever hit Europe from Ghana.

Mostly known for his songs ‘Simigwa’, ‘Adwoa Amissah’, ‘Kwakwa’and a host of others, Ambolley is expected to use the tour to promote Ghanaian music, his works as well as brand.

The objective of the tour is to promote and market Ghanaian highlife music in Europe and bring key Europe based music stakeholders together to support the cause of Ghanaian music.

The tour is also aimed at connecting more with the fan base of Gyedu Blay Ambolley and to thrill them with his various hit songs.

Gyedu Blay Ambolley, whose live musical performances have won the hearts of many music lovers in Ghana and beyond, will betreating music fans to an unforgettable live musical performance during the tour.

The veteran musician is one of the veteran highlife and Afro-jazz musicians in the country with international recognition.

He burst onto the scene over four decades ago with ‘Simigwa’, a jazzy highlife style that virtually worked its way into the hearts of music fans in the country and beyond.

He is the first musician from Ghana to formally incorporate rap forms into local highlife rhythms.

Gyedu Blay Ambolley has performed on various stages with some of the world’s most celebrated artistes like Miriam Makeba and the late Afrobeat king, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

He has 32 albums to his credit and has received numerous musical awards like the Lifetime Achievement Award by The Jazz at Drew from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, Los Angeles, CA.
