The management of Hearts of Oak has rejected reports that players are owed three months salaries.
Reports emerged on Thursday morning that players of the club were owed three months salaries following the impact of COVID-19 on the club’s finances.
According to the reports, none of the club’s players has received their salaries since March 2020, but the Phobians took to social media to deny such stories.
“The management of Accra Hearts of Oak wants to state emphatically that players of the club are not owed three months salaries as it’s been reported in the media. We therefore urge all to disregard such reports,” the club posted on their official Twitter handle.
The team, like the rest of the Ghana Premier League clubs, have been inactive following the halt of the topflight due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
With a game in hand, Hearts of Oak finished the first round in ninth place.
