HoodTalk organisers in a pose with President John Mahama
HoodTalk Music Festival, which started as an initiative of DreamChild Foundation, is to be transformed into an annual festival opened to all musicians across the world, especially Africans who believe in the ideals of the festival.
The festival is to continue with ideals of drawing attention to the fundraising efforts of DreamChild Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), to build five paediatric clinics across five regions in Ghana.
Also, the issue of the girl-child, youth empowerment and climate change would remain the central theme of the festival.
This year’s edition has been applauded by patrons for the spectacular event and turnout as well as showmanship, which has been described as beyond epic.
The event, which was held on Friday, May 9, at the iconic Black Star Square, attracted music lovers and well-wishers from all walks of life.
It’s a national event that has received endorsement from the presidency, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), UNESCO and notable royalty from the Northern, Ashanti, Volta, and Greater Accra regions.
The festival hopes to emulate other festivals, notably Global Citizen festivals, to attract worldwide attention and bring about the socio- economic development and benefit to the nation.
It is reaching out to the government for their logistic and financial support, to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of health for all, especially children.
