Rwanda has commenced alleged terror trial against Paul Rusesabagina.
Mr Rusesabagina was portrayed as a hero in the Hollywood movie, Hotel Rwanda.
The movie was about the Rwandan genocide.
Mr Rusesabagina appeared in court on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, for the start of his trial.
The Hotel Manager is facing terrorism charges.
Also facing the same charges are 20 others.
According to reports, he was accused of supporting the activities of the National Liberation Forces (FLN), which is the militant wing of his Rwandan Movement for Democratic Change (MRCD) party. He was also accused of kidnap and murder.
He was arrested in August 2020 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and sent to Rwanda.
His lawyers have denied the charges leveled against him.
