Felix Anaman
Award-winning Ghanaian cinematographer, Felix Anaman says he is thankful for how far he has come in his career.
Speaking in an interview with NEWS-ONE, he said he does not regret his career path.
According to him, it was his childhood passion and chose it because it is the most essential in the process of filmmaking.
The founder of Felix Anaman Films previously known as Blayz Pictures believes a cinematographer does not only dictate the overall look and visual style of a motion picture but also makes it possible to bring a director’s vision to life on the screen by handling all the technical aspects of visual storytelling.
“Without cinematography, there is no film and it’s not just about making pretty pictures. The cinematography takes the story from the script and translates it into a viewable image. The cinematography takes emotion and turns it into a picture. Composition, lighting, equipment selection, camera movement, visual effects and so much more are often deliberately planned out to have the maximum effect on the audience. Cinematography is important because, without it, the story couldn’t be told as easily,” he indicated when he was asked why he chose Cinematography.
Felix is one of Ghana’s prolific cinematographers. He is known for winning multiple awards including the GEIC Ghana Event Industry Conference Best Event Videography of the year 2019, 2020, 2022 and the National Communications Award 2021.
Whilst studying motion picture photography at Nafti, Felix realized his gift and passion for cinematography.
He decided to turn his passion into purpose and created Blayz Pictures now known as Felix Anaman Films.
Felix is known for his beautiful wedding captures and excellent storytelling of events.
He shot monumental events and created commercials for companies such as Unilever, Safaribet, Ernest Chemist, Appolonia City, Ayi Mensah and much more. Felix has also filmed many A-list celebrity events such as those by Stonebwoy, Sarkodie and Ghana’s current President Nana Akufo-Addo.
He is also the executive producer and DOP for Yvonne Nelson’s sold-out film, Fifty-Fifty starring John Dumelo, Majid Michel and Yvonne Nelson.
Felix’s talent has taken him to many countries like Kenya, Nigeria, Cameroon and the USA to film beautiful weddings and events.
