‘I Had A Beautiful Time In Accra’

Deborah Cox

R&B singer Deborah Cox has arrived safely in Washington, USA, after her horrifying experience on America-bound South African Airways (SAA) flight on Monday.

The songstress, along with other passengers heading for the United States of America on Monday dawn, had an emergency landing after what she described as “fire in the cockpit.”

Deborah was in Ghana for the Ghana World Music Festival, which was held at the Fantasy Dome at Trade Fair on Saturday.

She and her crew couldn’t continue their journey immediately after their flight issue early Monday.

They had to wait several hours in Accra for a different SAA flight.

They finally left Accra on Monday evening, and on Tuesday, she took to Twitter to announce her safe arrival in America.

She also added that she had a great experience in Accra despite the flight issues.

“Landed in Washington safely. Happy I’ll be able to fulfill my contractual commitments & get back to work.

In spite of the incident, I had a beautiful time in Accra for the ‘Year of the Return’ initiative, performing at the Ghana World Music Festival,” she said.

“Speaking on the panel for women in the arts, and finally travelling to Cape Coast to experience and learn more about my ancestry. I’m profoundly changed from visiting that place. #Accra #Ghana,” she also said in another tweet.
