Nigerian Afrobeats star, Tiwa Savage, has said she now places greater emphasis on financial stability and lifestyle experiences in relationships.
Speaking on a recent podcast, the award-winning singer revealed that she previously prioritised love and emotional connection over financial security, a choice she now considers a mistake.
“That is the mistake I used to make. Like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t care if you don’t have money, just love.’ I think now, I need someone who has money. I’m at that point now. You can judge me, I don’t care,” she said.
Tiwa Savage added that she is no longer interested in long-term or deeply committed relationships. Instead, she prefers more casual, experience-based connections.
“I’m not even looking for something long. Have money, take me to Saint-Tropez, Monaco, let’s see how the summer goes. It doesn’t have to be deep. I’ve been on the other side for a long time; I want to try this side,” she said.
She further noted that individuals should be free to express their preferences in relationships, adding that men often have similar expectations when choosing partners.
