Lydia Forson
Actress Lydia Forson has revealed that she wasn’t really confident about winning an award at the 2018 edition of Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCAs).
The outspoken actress was adjudged best supporting actress for her role in a Nigerian movie titled ‘Isoken’ at the awards ceremony which took place in Nigeria on Saturday.
However, she has stated that she was not sure about winning the award because she was competing with other equally great actors in her category.
According to Lydia, “So this is how it feels like; every year I come to the AMVCAs, I sit there, I don’t win and I pretend to be happy for the person who won. This year, I don’t have to pretend.”
“Today is my brother’s (Sam Forson) birthday and I promised to win this for him. I was not really confident I will win because there were so many actors,” she emotionally said when she went on stage to pick up her award.
“ ..Thank you to everyone who supported me. Thank you Ghana, this is for you,” she added.
Lydia and Adjetey Anang brought honour to Ghana at the AMVCAs as the only winners from Ghana.
Both Lydia and Adjetey have since Saturday been receiving congratulatory messages on social media for representing the country well.
