The Inspector General of Police (IGP) James Oppong-Boanuh has presented various food items, a flat screen television and a decoder set to the inmates of the Sekondi Prisons in the Western Region.

The presentation was made on behalf of the IGP by the Western Regional Police commander, DCOP Redeemer Vincent Dedjoe.

The items included 10 bags of Rice and four litres of cooking oil in addition to the television set and the decoder.

He implored the prison officers to ensure the inmates watched religious programmes, particularly activities of T.B Joshua, a Nigerian-based prophet on Emmanuel TV to listen to the word of God and be well reformed when they come out from prisons.

DCOP Dedjoe pointed out that the support to the inmates was the IGP’s way of showing love to the inmates.

The Regional Commander pointed out that it was important that the inmates were remembered and assisted as a measure of extending God’s love and care to them.

Receiving the items, ADP Nana Amoku Quansah, the Second in Command at the Sekondi Prisons, expressed gratitude to the IGP and Regional Commander for the gesture adding “like Oliver Twists we will still ask for more”.
