The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Takoradi Constituency in the 2024 elections, Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, is hopeful of retaining the seat with a larger margin, come December 7, 2024.
Mr. Darko Mensah, who doubles as the Western Regional Minister has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Takoradi since 2008.
According to the Minster, his hard work in the area will give him victory.
“We promised and we delivered. We have been consistent and shown that we are not liars but when we promise we deliver on those promises,” the Minister said.
He pointed out his optimism about the NPP’s ability to increase its seats in the Western Region from the current nine.
Meanwhile, the First Vice Chairman of the NPP in the constituency, Justice Acquah, has expressed confidence that with unity and cooperation among the party members, the NPP can retain the Takoradi seat.
“Our Parliamentary candidate who doubles as the Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, has what it takes to retain the seat for the NPP in the 2024 elections,” he said.
“But as a single individual, he cannot do it alone but with the help of all polling station and constituency executives,” he emphasized.
Mr. Acquah, popularly called ‘Chairman Busty’ made the remarks in an interview with DAILY GUIDE.
“We need everyone onboard. The minister’s victory in the recent Parliamentary primary in the area was not for him alone but the entire NPP fraternity in the constituency,” he said.
