Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kyeremanten, has hinted of plans by government to create an industrial park in Tamale in the Northern Region.

Mr Kyerematen said the project would be replicated in the 10 regions to reduce overcrowding in Accra.

It would help with the allocation of land for the establishment of factories.

He said the government would help distressed businesses to provide employment for the youth through the industrial transformational agenda.

Mr Kyerematen said government would make Tamale the focus of its industrialization agenda.

The Minister also indicated that government has plans to export locally manufactured products, adding that there are also plans to improve retail and consumption of made in Ghana products.

Meanwhile, the Minister has reiterated his commitment to complete the Tamale Mall which has been abandoned for decades.

According to him, the completion of the Tamale Mall would complement government’s industrial transformational agenda policy.

Mr Kyerematen disclosed these when he paid a working visit to Tamale where he was hosted by the Mayor of Tamale, Musah Superior.

The Mayor led the delegation to the Gulkpena and Dakpema palaces in Tamale.
