The late Abigail Nana Ama Fosua
A twenty-four-year old lady, Abigail Nana Ama Fosua, has allegedly committed suicide at ‘Gentle Man Road,’ a suburb of Samreboi in the Amenfi West Municipality of the Western Region.
The deceased, described as a pretty fair young woman, ostensibly killed herself because her boyfriend jilted her. She was found hanging in her room on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at about 11:30am.
Abigail, who before her death was learning a trade, had a four-year-old son with the lover whose name was given only as Hackman.
According to some of the deceased’s friends, they saw Abigail a day before the incident and she was feeling okay. They, however, claimed that a message they later saw on Abigail’s WhatsApp status, indicated that she had a problem with her boyfriend.
According to sources, the alleged boyfriend and the deceased were not staying together. However, the boyfriend visited Abigail from time to time.
Even though what might have caused the young woman to commit suicide was not immediately known, it was alleged that the boyfriend jilted her.
Speaking to the media, the landlord of the deceased, Dominic Danquah, said on Wednesday afternoon at about 12 noon, he was in his room when he heard the purported boyfriend, who was around for his usual visit, screaming and rush out of the lady’s room.
The landlord said, “So I came out only to be informed by Hackman that Abigail has hanged herself in her room. I went to the room and found her hanging.”
The police at Samreboi were informed and the lifeless body of the deceased was later sent to Samartex Hospital morgue, pending further investigation.
Meanwhile, the alleged boyfriend of the deceased has been arrested by the police to assist in investigation.
