Joe Ghartey
Aspiring Presidential candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Joe Ghartey has directed his team to bring down all his billboards within the Greater Kumasi metropolis in the Ashanti Region ahead of the party’s conference on Sunday.
The Party’s Steering Committee had directed that no billboards, banners, posters etc of various NPP aspirants are allowed within the Ashanti Region, especially Greater Kumasi area, during the National Delegates’ Conference.
The Ashanti Regional Minister has been given the responsibility to remove all these billboards.
Consequently, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah had requested anyone who has mounted or pasted any of such items within the Region to remove them by midnight, Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
He warned that “Failure to obey this directive by the end of the deadline, the Regional Minister will have no other option but to ensure removal of all such items.”
MMDCEs are also directed to remove all such items after the deadline.
Joe Ghartey therefore pleaded with his supporters to respect the directive of the Steering Committee as he does not want any of his campaign materials in Greater Kumasi.
He wrote “A special team in Kumasi is ensuring that all billboards erected for me, are brought down in obedience to the decision of the Steering Committee of the Party that all Presidential Aspirants should ensure that they have no billboards within Greater Kumasi.
“I appeal to all who support me to strictly adhere to the directives. No T-Shirts, banners or any such promotional items in my name or bearing my pictures should be brought within Greater Kumasi. Thank you for your support and let me also take this opportunity to wish all of you a Merry
Christmas and a blessed New Year. It is my prayer that our Party and government will continue to grow from strength to strength. Eshii wrado wrado.”
