Eighteen junior tennis players have been selected from the maiden edition of the Accra Open Junior League for ten weeks of intensive training at the National Tennis Center, Accra.
The ten-weeks training is to be undertaken by experienced coaches Richard Ayi Dartey and Henry Quansah, with supporting coaches Eric Tetteh Nartey, Joshua Nunoo, and Charles Tetteh.
Speaking to ghanatennis.org, after the selection on Saturday, head coach Henry Quansah said, “We selected these junior players from the just-ended Accra Open Junior Tennis League. The selection wasn’t done by one coach, but all the coaches involved in the league.”
He added that, “I want to use this medium to thank Mr. Amoako Boafo for this sponsorship.”
Coach Richard Ayi Dartey also said, “I am very excited to be here, the future looks bright for Ghana tennis. This is the future.”
