Keche
Members of Ghanaian music group, Keche Global, have emphatically cautioned critics in the entertainment industry not to destroy their hard-earned reputation as a music brand with frivolous rumours if they don’t love their style of music.
The duo in an Instagram post sighted by DGN ONLINE, claimed some industry stakeholders do not support their craft due to reasons best known to themselves, and warned those against them not to spoil them to other people who believe in their brand.
In the Instagram post, they wrote, ” Our dream is to become the biggest group in Africa, if you want to support us thank you, if you won’t please don’t spoil us to those who want #GoodMood #Keche To The World.”
Keche has released a new song titled ‘Good Mood’, which has been number one on various music charts in the country. The group recently charged award juries and stakeholders to recognise their musical efforts under the 2020 year review.
According to the duo, since their musical breakthrough in 2008, both VGMA and 3Music Awards have never acknowledged them, saying, this is discriminatory and unhealthy to our entertainment industry. The group is also confident of winning the ‘Best Group of the Year’ category at any awards ceremony they have been nominated this year, considering the enormous hits they’ve released in the years.
The hiplife music group is made up of Joshua Kojo Amoah and Andrew Kofi Cudjoe. The group became very active in the year 2004 and 2005, and had recorded countless ‘demos’ and mixtapes in studios like One Blaze and Dons Mic, all in the Tema Metropolis.
The duo rose to fame with their debut album ‘Pressure’ (2008).
Keche has multiple nominations under their belt and their song ‘Sokode’ topped several music charts across the African continent.
Their recording quest drove them to the shores of the Highly Spiritual studio owned by legendary sound engineer Kaywa.
They are known for the songs ‘Sokode’, ‘Aluguntugui’, ‘Diabetes’, ‘Pressure’, amongst others.
In 2011, the group was recognised as a Global Ambassador for Peace by the then Liberia’s President, Her Excellency Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
Following that, the group also performed at the UN Peace Concert in Monrovia, Liberia, in 2014, which gave them recognition across Africa.
In 2019, Keche signed a record deal with Gem Rhythms, a subsidiary of Gem Multimedia.
