Premier hospitality firm, Kempinski Hotel, Gold Coast City Accra, has partnered Turkish Airlines to launch the first-ever Turkish Culture and Cuisine Week in Ghana.
The cultural and cuisine week will begin from 30th June to 8th July from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm daily at the Cedar Gardens of the Kempinski Hotel.
It seeks to give Ghanaians the opportunity to enjoy the diversity and culture of Turkey, which includes traditional music, marbling, calligraphy, and carpet weaving from experts from Turkey.
Speaking at the press launch, Turkish Ambassador to Ghana, Nesrin Bayazit said the event will help to enhance the bilateral relationship between Ghana and Turkey.
“Our relationship with Ghana is enhancing in every scale, so we have decided to add culture to the already existing political and economic relationship. It will be the first time we are holding a cultural week here in Ghana and the idea is to promote Turkish cuisine and Turkish art to the Ghanaian public,” she stated.
Managing Director of Kempinski Hotel, Manish Nambiar, added that the event will expose Ghanaians to the Turkish lifestyle and culture.
“As part of our endeavour to promote different culture and lifestyle, we are partnering Turkish Embassy to make this year’s a memorable event”.
According to him, with sponsorship from one of the leading airlines in the country, Turkish Airlines, the Embassy will fly three chefs from Istanbul to Ghana just to allow Ghanaians taste true Turkish food and a special dessert.
