Member of Parliament for the Assin Central Constituency and Flagbearer aspirant for the New Patriotic Party, Ken Ohene Agyapong, has concluded his constituency campaign tours and is ready for a showdown during the November 4, 2023 elections.
Starting with a health walk in Accra, Agyapong’s campaign covered all 275 constituencies, engaging with delegates and sharing his vision and plans for Ghana.
In a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) page, he urged delegates to refrain from vote-selling and emphasized the importance of choosing a leader based on their track record and potential contributions.
“I have visited all 275 constituencies in Ghana, I have interacted and shared my vision and plan for Ghana with them (Delegates). What remains now, is the showdown, which we have to give them on November 4th.
“I urge every delegate not to sell their vote for money, but rather to base their decision on what each candidate has done and can do for you.
Agyapong’s campaign aims to promote his agenda of “Patriotism, Honesty, and Discipline” (PHD) and lead the party to victory in the upcoming elections.
He called on party members and delegates to consider his platform when casting their votes.
The Presidential Elections Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that the November 4 Presidential Primaries will be conducted in all constituencies across the country.
Over 200,000 NPP delegates will participate in the election, which aims to select a Presidential Candidate for the 2024 election.
Professor Michael Oquaye, Chairman of the Committee, assured that the elections would be free and fair, with the Electoral Commission taking charge of the process.
He emphasized that no party member would be involved in conducting the elections, ensuring an unbiased and transparent procedure.
The committee recently released guidelines for the primaries, outlining the procedures and rules for electing a presidential candidate. The four contenders for the slot are Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, MP for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong, former MP for Mampong Francis Addai-Nimoh, and former Agric Minister Dr. Owusu Akoto Afriyie.
The NPP primaries are expected to be a highly contested battle, with each candidate promoting their credentials and plans for the party’s future.
As November 4 approaches, the focus will be on the delegates’ decision and who will emerge as the party’s flag bearer.
