Almost the entire community of
Ahafo Kenyase 1 and 2 in the Asutifi North Constituency of the Ahafo Region was turned upside down today.
That, was when Vice President Bawumia went there as part of his 2024 election campaign activities.
About an hour or two before his arrival in the town, an information van had gone around homes announcing his coming, with an open invitation to all who cared.
By 9 am, Bawumia who is also the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate in the upcoming general election had arrived in town, with his ‘It Is Possible’ branded bus and blurring songs from the sound truck attracting instant attention.
Within time, the streets of Kenyase had been taken over by an enthusiastic crowd, emerging from every former of town with a brass band in tow.
Bawumia and members of his campaign team could not but respond to the loud cheers from the windows of their bus.
His first port of call was the Kenyase No.1 Chiefs Palace and from then to the Kenyase No. 2 Chiefs Palace to pay a courtesy call on the traditional leaders.
The chiefs and people could not thank President Akufo-Addo and the NPP government enough for all the good things they have not only done but continue to do for them and the people of Ghana.
Chief among them was the government’s implementation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy which is on the lips of almost every parent, especially Ghanaian mothers.
They also talked about the ongoing 111 projects in which the government is constructing some 111 hospitals across all districts in the country.
Matters got to a hilt when Dr. Bawumia arrived at the venue for the ‘Youth Connect’ programme.
He did not have it easy alighting from the bus whilst meandering his way through the overwhelming crowd to the stage which had been mounted.
But the crowd went agog when he found his way onto the stage and waved, with spontaneous chants of ‘it is possible’ from the people.
The blurring sounds of vuvuzelas had taken over the place with chants of ‘it is possible’.
The NPP Flagbearer expressed profound appreciation to the people of Kenyase for the love shown him.
From there, Dr Bawumia proceeded to Bechem in the Tano South constituency to commiserate with the Queen mother, Nana Adwoapo Dwamena who was mourning the passing of her chief.
