King Promise, Stonebwoy Lead TGMA Nominations

Ghanaian Afrobeat sensation, King Promise, Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy, and Gospel group Team Eternity lead the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) with eight nominations each.

King Promise received nominations in the following categories; Most popular song – Paris,

Artist of the year – King Promise, International collaboration- Continental Collaboration of the year – fav story, Best video – continental, Best video- keep it sexy, Best Afrobeats song – fav story, Afro pop song – Paris, Album of the year – true to self and Afrobeats artist of the year.

Stonebwoy was nominated for the Artiste of the Year, Album/EP of the Year – “Up and Running”, Best Reggae/Dancehall Song – “Psalm 23”,  Best Music Video – “Jejereje”, Best Reggae Dancehall Artiste, International Collaboration of the Year – “Ekelebe” featuring OdumoduBlvck, “Jiggle And Whine” featuring Spice,  Most Popular Song – “Jejereje”.

Gospel group Team Eternity also received various nominations, including Artiste of the Year, Gospel Artiste of the Year, Best New Artiste, Naana Asiedu (Team Eternity) – “DefeDefe” Female Vocal Performance, Best Urban Contemporary Gospel – “DefeDefe”, Song Writer – “DefeDefe”, Most Popular Song – “DefeDefe” and Group of the Year.

Black Sherif also received seven nominations in categories such as Most Popular Song – “January 9” and “Lomo Lomo” which he was featured in, Artiste of the Year, “Lomo Lomo” again was nominated for Best Collaboration and Best Afrobeat Song, Best Hiplife/Hipop Artiste, Best Hipop Song with “Kilos Milos”, Best Hiplife Song – “Rebel Music”.

King Paluta followed suit with six nominations: Artiste of the Year, Best Collaboration – “Obo Bi Ye Bad,” which he was featured on,Best Hiplife/Hipop Artiste, Best Highlife Song – “Aseda,” Best Hiplife Song – “Soja Go Soja Come,” which he was also featured on, and Most Popular Song – “Aseda”.

Sarkodie received nominations in several categories, including Best Hiplife/Hip Pop Artist, Rap Performance for his song “Brag,” Hip Hop Song for “Amen” featuring BeeztrapKotm, and Best HipPop Song for “No Size”.

This year’s edition of Ghana’s biggest music night comes off on May 3, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
