Kotoko Declare Red Week …Ahead Of Conf. Cup Return Clash

Kotoko players celebrating their second goal

Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer, George Amoako, has launched a ‘Red Week’ campaign ahead of his side’s CAF Confederations Cup return leg fixture.

The Red Army returned home on Tuesday from Cameroun after leaving good footprints; defeating Coton Sport 3-2 on Sunday.

And to ensure a double win over the visitors in the second leg, Amoako has charged the club’s faithful to throng the Baba Yara Stadium in their traditional red shirts and adornments to signify their seriousness.

Consequently, the Club’s CEO has declared this week a ‘Red Week’.

Amoako pointed out in an interview that “We are known out there as a big club with a huge support base that wears red to the stadium whenever the team plays.

“Our team identifies with the red colour and we want the fans to create that charged atmosphere to prove the true identity and clout of Asante Kotoko when they arrive.

“We want all our supporters and sympathisers to wear red attires throughout this week until the end of the game on Sunday.”Let’s get our red flags, bandanas, scarves, ribbons, bungles, wristbands, earrings, spectacles and all the red adornments out.”

He added: “Let’s give them an idea of what they are up against even before we face them at Baba Yara Stadium.”
