Kotoko Grab Vital Away Win

Kotoko players celebrating their second goal
Ghana’s sole continental campaigners, Asante Kotoko inched closer to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup competition with a 3-2 win over Coton Sport Garoua in Cameroun yesterday.

Emmanuel Gyamfi fetched an early opener after which his mate Maxwell Baakor doubled the lead 20 minutes later.

The home side fought relentlessly which resulted in Kalilou Dauda reducing the deficit few minutes before recess.

Kotoko resumed the game brightly despite their lead.

That increased their tally to three with a beautiful strike from Abdul Fatawu. Thereafter, Kotoko pressed on for more goals, but it was the Cameroun side that again pulled a goal back through Guema Araina with 20 minutes remaining.

Kotoko are expected to host Coton Sport in the return leg fixture in Kumasi this weekend.
