Kotoko Maintain Winning Ways

Kotoko players celebrate after the game. INSET: Isaac Oppong carries the ball after netting the second goal

Asante Kotoko last Saturday recorded their fourth consecutive win this season when they defeated visiting Techiman Eleven Wonders 2-0 in Kumasi.

New signings – Samuel Boateng and new kid on the block Isaac Oppong scored in both halves to grab all the points and also to keep their clean sheet intact.

Wonders threatened their opponents, but Kotoko’s deadlocked goalkeeper Razak Abalora saved Isaac Kwain’s strike.

Boateng capitalised on a defensive error to open the scores for the Prosper Ogum Narteh’s men.

Later, Boateng was presented with another opportunity to double Kotoko’s lead but his shot was blocked.

Kotoko finally doubled their lead by the 75th minute through

young but enterprising Oppong, who went past his marker to cushion his side’s lead with 14 minutes remaining.

Kotoko remain on the summit with 12 points after wins over Dreams, Bechem and Gold Stars.
