Seydou Zerbo
It has come up that Asante Kotoko have sacked head coach Seydou Zerbo.
And indications were that the club’s 0-2 home loss to Medeama SC on Sunday necessitated his sack.
Sunday’s loss was the Porcupine Warriors’ first in this season’s campaign.
In August 2021, the Burkinabe coach was appointed head coach as a replacement for Prosper Narteh Ogum, after winning the Premiership last season.
Kotoko have parted ways with Zerbo for a not-too-impressive results, resulting in the club’s seventh position on the league log after 22 games.
The former Burkina Faso national team coach has been in charge for Kotoko’s 23 games in all competitions this season, where he managed 10 wins, 6 draws, and 7 losses.
In his stead, deputy coach Abdul Gazale takes charge of the team momentarily until a substantive one is appointed.
Zerbo is the latest of coaches Kotoko have axed in the last three seasons after Maxwell Konadu, Johnson Smith, Mariano Barreto and Narteh Ogum.
