Kpembewura in a handshake with President Akufo-Addo
The Chief of the Kpembe Traditional Area in Gonjaland of the Northern Region, Kpembewura Bismark Haruna, has called on President Akufo-Addo to expedite action on the Tamale-Makango road project.
The Kpembewura made the appeal when the Second Lady, Samira Bawumia paid a courtesy call on him in his palace to launch her Safe Delivery Project in Salaga.
According to him, the road, when constructed, will link the Makango, Salaga, Bimbilla and Tamale communities and will boost economic activities in the area.
He indicated that, it will also help farmers in the area transport their farm produce to the city centers for sale on time.
The road linking Makango, Salaga and Tamale has deteriorated to the extent that commuters always fear for their lives when travelling on the road. The bad nature of the road has claimed a lot of lives and many had been deformed and maimed.
The Kpembewura, however, praised the Akufo-Addo government for the many pro-poor policies and initiatives it has implemented and the others that are in the pipeline to better the lot of Ghanaians.
“Let it be known to the government that he has our full support and we are ready at all times to work with him to better the lot of our people and Ghanaians at large,” he stated.
