KUMASI Mayor, Osei Assibey Antwi, has been commended highly for the professional manner in which the allocation of stores to traders at Kejetia is being done, so far.

Scores of New Patriotic Party (NPP) bigwigs in Kumasi, including regional and constituency executives have said the Mayor and his team are supervising a very prudent exercise devoid of partisanship.

Speaking on behalf of the party following a tour of the market by some of the NPP gurus, Nana Ama Ampomah, the Ashanti Regional NPP Women’s Organizer, said she is thrilled about the professional work by the KMA.

According to her, the assembly has carefully allocated stores to traders that were stationed at Kejetia before they were ejected for works to start.

Nana Ama Ampomah stated that the fairness of the KMA has led to peaceful allocation of stores “and the mayor deserves to be lauded.”

“There were concerns, certainly from our detractors that the allocation of stores will bring trouble but that is not what we have been seeing so far,” she emphasized.

Nana Ama Ampomah stated that she was happy for the traders and shop owners, insisting that the Kejetia Market would rejuvenate businesses activities in the city once again.

On his part, George Kofi Adjei aka (GEOKAD) the NPP Nhyiaeso Constituency Chairman, said the NPP would use the Kejetia project to campaign for votes in 2020.

He said opponents of the NPP expressed doubt as to whether the NPP administration could complete the project, which was started under the previous NDC government.

The NPP Nhyiaeso Chairman said “the Kumasi Mayor and his team have done the Kejetia project perfectly and I will urge the media to give Kejetia positive media coverage.”
