Two of Ghana’s award-winning afrobeat artistes, KiDi and Kuami Eugene, who are currently in London, have paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK and Ireland, Papa Owusu-Ankomah.
Accompanied by their management team and representatives from Akwaaba UK, and SMADE Entertainment, the visit was to officially inform the High Commissioner about their upcoming concert at the 02 Indigo Arena on March 6.
The concert will serve as a platform for over 10,000 Ghanaians and other African nationals to network and sell Ghana’s music to the rest of the world.
The show has already been sold out successfully as the two acts prepare to make history in London by entertaining their fans with great songs and performances.
Mr. Owusu-Ankomah told them to continue promoting Ghanaian music as an important part of her tourism, arts, and culture.
KiDi, who is currently Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA)’s Afrobeats Artiste of the Year, has singles such as ‘Odo’, ‘Say Cheese’, ‘Enjoyment’ and the 2021 smash hit ‘Touch It’.
He shot to prominence in 2017 when he released ‘Say You Love Me’, a song he not only composed, but also arranged and produced.
Kuami Eugene, a four-time Highlife Artiste of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), also won the Artiste of the Year at the 2020 VGMA.
He is known for hit songs such as ‘Angela’, ‘Confusion’, ‘Wish Me Well’, ‘Open Gate’ ‘Obiaato’, ‘Show Body’, ‘Aku Shika’, ‘Turn Up’, among others.
