FORMER PRESIDENT John Agyekum Kufuor has admonished the rich in society to always give a helping hand to the needy and vulnerable people so that they can also live comfortably and enjoy life.
According to him, the essence of life is for people who are blessed by God to freely share their wealth and prosperity with needy people to enable them overcome their problems.
In this regard, Mr. Kufuor has entreated affluent people and corporate institutions to always make a commitment to invest in the lives of people, who are in the grip of poverty.
“We are remembered in life not because of the things we possess but how we use our possessions to help the needy in society”, the former Ghanaian leader stated.
This was contained in a speech which was read on behalf of Mr. Kufuor by the DCE for Effiduase-Asokore, Mary Boatemaah, at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi on Sunday, June 3, 2018.
The occasion was the official launching of the ‘Ampomah Foundation’, which has been formed ostensibly to cater for the poor in society, including widows.
The Ashanti Regional Women’s Organizer of the NPP, Nana Ama Ampomah, who is the founder and leader of ‘Ampomah Foundation’, said God touched her heart to form the foundation.
She said the foundation would seek to support the needy and vulnerable in the country so that they can live better, urging the populace to willingly support the foundation to realize its goals.
