Kumasi Gang Rapists Caged For X’mas

The Suspects

The Asokwa Circuit Court (1) has remanded into juvenile cells the three boys who allegedly gang-raped a teenage girl at Bantama, Kumasi, for one week, implying that they will spend the Christmas holidays outside their homes.

The prosecution told Magistrate Peter Oppong Boateng that the police were still investigating the case.

The magistrate, who presided over the case in-camera, therefore remanded the three suspects.

The boys, including two Senior High School (SHS) 1 and one Junior High School (JHS) 3 students, would reappear in court on December 27, 2017 for the case to be heard.

The three suspects (name withheld) were among seven boys who allegedly gang-raped a teenage girl at Bantama.

The seven suspects supposedly recorded the obscene act on video, which has since gone viral on several social media platforms.

The about five minutes video shows a teenage girl pinned to a mattress by one of her abusers while his accomplices take turns to have sex with her.

The victim, who was resisting her attackers throughout the ordeal, was restrained from escaping by her abusers who appeared to be having fun with the torture.

Three of the boys were apprehended in their various homes at Bantama over the weekend, but the remaining four absconded.

John Boamah, lawyer for the suspects, politely refused to talk to the media, explaining that the matter was still in court.

He, however, said the police asked for more time to investigate the case, adding that the plea of the trio was not taken.
